چکیده

We consider the Higgs sector in an extension of the MSSM involving an extra U(1) gauge symmetry and SM singlet U(1)charged scalars, in which the effective μ parameter is decoupled from the Z mass. There are large mixings between Higgs doublets and singlets, significantly affecting the Higgs spectrum, production cross sections, decay modes, exclusion limits, and allowed parameters ranges. Scalars considerably lighter than 114 GeV are allowed, and the range tanβ ∼ 1 is both allowed and theoretically favored. We concentrate on the lighter (least model dependent) Higgs particles with significant SU(2)-doublet components to their wave functions, for the case of no explicit CP violation in the Higgs sector. We consider their spectra, including the dominant radiative corrections to their masses in the large t̃ mass limit; production cross sections and exclusion limits at LEP and a future linear collider; and decay properties.

Spontaneous Discrete Symmetry Breaking During Inflation and the NMSSM Domain Wall Problem

The Next to Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM), proposed as a solution of the μ problem of the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, has a discrete Z3 symmetry which is spontaneously broken at the electroweak phase transition, resulting in a cosmological domain wall problem. This domain wall problem cannot be solved by explicit Z3 breaking without introducing supergravity tadpole co...

Destabilising Divergences in the NMSSM

The problem of destabilising divergences is discussed for singlet extensions of the MSSM. It is shown that models which possess either gauged-R symmetry or target space duality at the Planck scale are able to circumvent this problem whilst avoiding cosmological domain walls.

Exceptional Supersymmetric Standard Model

We discuss some phenomenological aspects of an E6 inspired supersymmetric standard model with an extra U(1)N gauge symmetry under which right-handed neutrinos have zero charge, allowing a conventional see-saw mechanism. The μ problem is solved in a similar way to the NMSSM, but without the accompanying problems of singlet tadpoles or domain walls. The above exceptional supersymmetric standard m...

Singlets in Supersymmetry

It is argued that singlet extensions of the MSSM at the weak scale are indicative of either gauged-R symmetry or target space duality in a string effective action at the Planck scale. The criteria used are satisfactory primordial nucleosynthesis, absence of fine-tuning, and absence of cosmological problems such as domain walls. Models which have a global discrete symmetry such as the NMSSM may ...

Symmetry Non-Restoration via Order 10−10 B and L Asymmetries

It has been observed that a large lepton asymmetry, nL/s ≈ 0.1, can prevent the Higgs expectation value from going to zero at high temperature, resulting in the non-restoration of the SU(2) × U(1) gauge symmetry and other symmetries. This could allow for the elimination of domain walls and other dangerous topological defects. Here we show that if the reheating temperature after inflation, TR, i...
